Excellent Storage Solutions for Larger Items

Tall cabinets offer excellent storage solutions for larger items or bulk purchases, while open shelving keeps frequently used items visible and within easy reach. For even greater organization, dedicated shelving allows you to assign specific spots for each category of items, from snacks to canned goods, reducing clutter and making it easy to locate exactly what you need. Our walk-in pantry can also accommodate a variety of storage solutions, such as baskets and storage bins. These additions are especially useful for grouping similar items, preventing smaller goods from getting lost or creating clutter on shelves.

Adding Long-Term Value To Your Home

Beyond functionality, our walk-in pantry also adds long-term value to your home. Homeowners are increasingly prioritizing storage solutions that streamline kitchen tasks and maintain an organized, clutter-free look.

With our pantry, you enhance not only the kitchen’s usability but also its aesthetic appeal, with shelving and cabinets that complement your home’s style.

Custom pantry solutions allow you to match or enhance the existing design of your kitchen, from the choice of cabinetry to the finishes on your pantry shelves, making the new pantry feel like a natural extension of your kitchen.

A walk-in pantry isn’t just a luxury; it’s an investment in convenience, efficiency, and style. By incorporating personalized storage solutions like baskets, open shelving, and tall cabinets, a custom pantry makes meal preparation faster and grocery organization simpler.

The result is a streamlined, organized kitchen where everything has a place, making it easy to keep the space clutter-free and functional, while adding value to your home.

Maximizing Storage Space in Your Walk-in Pantry

Maximizing storage space is essential for any walk-in pantry, and achieving this begins with an efficient design approach.

Custom storage solutions like tall cabinets and open shelving ensure that you can easily see and access everything without creating clutter.

Tall cabinets are perfect for holding bulkier items, while open shelving keeps frequently used ingredients and snacks visible and within easy reach, adding both function and aesthetic appeal. Combining these features helps organize food, small appliances, and even larger kitchen essentials.

The back wall of your pantry is a key area that can significantly enhance your storage capacity.

Installing pantry shelves or vertical dividers along this wall allows for better organization of items that tend to get lost in deeper shelves.

Vertical dividers are especially useful for storing trays, cutting boards, and baking sheets upright, preventing them from creating clutter on other shelves.

By effectively using the back wall, you’ll create dedicated spots for various categories of items, reducing the risk of overcrowding and wasted space.

A Cabinet in a Strategic Location

For homeowners with smaller kitchens or limited storage options, adding modular storage solutions, like IKEA cabinets, in strategic locations can create just enough space to keep everything organized.

An IKEA cabinet offer versatile sizes and customizable features that make them an ideal addition to small walk-in pantries.

Placing them in areas that need extra storage, such as lower shelves or hard-to-reach corners, can free up room for more frequently used items on open shelves.

They provide a clean, professional look and can be customized to complement the design of your kitchen.

With thoughtful organization, our walk-in pantry not only stores your food but also keeps small appliances, and pantry doors well-integrated for ultimate efficiency.

Creating designated storage areas for each category of items prevents overcrowding, maintains visibility, and makes everything easy to locate.

In addition, incorporating pantry doors with built-in shelving or hooks further enhances functionality by adding extra space for lighter items like spices or paper towels.

Through careful planning and smart use of space, you can transform your walk-in pantry into a streamlined, efficient storage solution that simplifies kitchen tasks and enhances your overall kitchen layout.

Essential Pantry Shelving Options

One of the biggest decisions in designing a walk-in pantry is choosing the right pantry shelving.

Options like open shelving offer visibility and easy access, while closed cabinetry can help store less frequently used items or kitchen essentials you’d prefer out of sight.

Wall-mounted pantry shelves maximize floor space and allow you to stack food items vertically, creating more storage space.

For a clean, organized look, consider using adjustable shelving, which allows you to store items of varying heights without any wasted space.

Corner pantry designs can also benefit from floating shelves or vertical dividers, which make the most of tight spaces.

Additionally, finished shelves or lower cabinets are ideal for storing paper towels and small kitchen appliances, keeping everything in its designated place.

Choosing the Perfect Pantry Door for Your Space

Choosing the right pantry door is more than just a design choice; it’s also about functionality.

Sliding doors are ideal for smaller kitchens where space is at a premium, while a double door pantry provides easy access to everything at once.

Glass doors add a touch of elegance and allow you to showcase organized pantry shelves, while solid doors offer a clean, minimalist look that keeps pantry contents hidden.

Consider the layout of your kitchen and how you use your pantry when selecting the door style.

Some homeowners prefer to use IKEA cabinets with hidden hinges for a seamless look, while others enjoy the convenience of doors with built-in shelving for extra storage.

No matter your choice, the right pantry door will complete your walk-in pantry design and add both style and practicality.

Custom Walk-in Pantry Ideas for Small Kitchens

For small kitchens, a walk-in pantry can be a game-changer, providing ample storage without taking up too much space.

Utilizing corner pantry designs and tall cabinets is a great way to maximize storage space in a limited area. Open shelving helps keep items visible and accessible, reducing clutter and making it easy to locate kitchen essentials.

Adding lower cabinets for larger items and using vertical dividers for storing food and small appliances are effective strategies.

Double door pantries or sliding doors can also help by offering access without requiring too much floor space. With the right pantry shelves and layout, even the smallest kitchen can benefit from a well-designed walk-in pantry.

Double Door Pantry Designs for Extra Access

A double door pantry design is a smart choice for homeowners who need easy access to every item in their walk-in pantry.

Double door designs are perfect for creating a clutter-free space, as they can reveal the full layout of half your pantry in one simple motion, making organization a breeze.

Adding shelves and tall cabinets behind the doors provides a clean, stylish look and maximizes storage space. For extra convenience, some double door pantries include door-mounted shelves to store small items like spices, paper towels, or pantry essentials.

Depending on your pantry layout, consider incorporating cabinets to add functional space that matches your kitchen’s design.

Professional designers often recommend double door pantries for larger kitchens or when space allows, as they add both elegance and practicality to any pantry setup.

With the flexibility to customize everything from shelf height to cabinet depth, a double door pantry can transform your kitchen into a well-organized and accessible space.

How to Organize Small Appliances in Your Pantry

Organizing small appliances in a walk-in pantry helps keep your kitchen counters free of clutter while ensuring these items are easy to access.

Using dedicated storage solutions, like base cabinets or open shelves, can make a big difference.

Place frequently used appliances on lower shelves, making them easy to grab when needed, while storing larger items like blenders or slow cookers on top shelves or taller cabinets.

Vertical dividers are also a smart addition for organizing items such as baking trays or cutting boards, helping you make the most of available space.

By creating a designated spot for each appliance, you can keep your pantry clutter-free, functional, and ready for use at any time.

Using IKEA Cabinets in a Walk-in Pantry

Integrating IKEA cabinets into your walk-in pantry offers both style and affordability, providing versatile storage solutions for your kitchen.

With their modular designs and customizable options, IKEA cabinets make it easy to create a pantry layout that suits your needs and maximizes space.

Whether you prefer open shelves or enclosed cabinetry, IKEA has options to help you organize food, kitchen essentials, and small appliances efficiently.

For small kitchens or corner pantry designs, IKEA’s base cabinets and tall cabinets work wonders to make the most of every inch of space.

Using adjustable shelving within these cabinets allows you to store items of varying heights without wasting space.

Adding IKEA cabinets to your pantry can also provide hidden storage areas, perfect for keeping your kitchen looking clutter-free.

When combined with additional features like pantry doors and wall-mounted shelves, IKEA cabinets can complete your walk-in pantry design, offering a seamless blend of form and function.

Pantry Storage Solutions for Optimal Food Organization

A well-organized walk-in pantry can make food storage efficient and stress-free.

One of the best ways to achieve this is by installing pantry shelves that keep food items visible and easy to reach.

Using open shelving can make it simpler to locate kitchen essentials like spices, canned goods, and snacks.

Vertical dividers and shelf supports can also improve organization, keeping items from toppling over or taking up more room than necessary.

For added convenience, think about dedicating specific pantry sections to items used daily, like snacks or breakfast foods, which can be stored at eye level.

With a strategic approach to pantry storage, you can maximize space and keep your walk-in pantry organized, making mealtime and grocery shopping a more enjoyable experience.

Avoiding Wasted Space in Your Walk-in Pantry Design

Wasted space is a common issue in pantry design, but with our walk-in pantry, you can optimize every inch for functionality.

Start by utilizing the back wall for pantry shelves, adding both open shelving and closed cabinets as needed.

This can prevent the dreaded “dead zone” that often forms in deep pantries, where items get lost or forgotten.

One way to avoid wasted space is by incorporating shelf supports and adjustable shelving, which can be tailored to the size of your pantry items.

Additionally, tall cabinets and corner pantry solutions are ideal for creating space without crowding the floor area.

By focusing on efficiency and keeping items visible and accessible, your walk-in pantry can remain organized and clutter-free while maximizing space effectively.

The Best Shelving Options for a Clutter-Free Pantry

When it comes to creating a clutter-free pantry, choosing the right shelving is essential.

Open shelving is a popular option for our walk-in pantry because it provides quick visibility of all items, making it easy to find what you need without unnecessary searching.

Another great choice is adjustable shelving, which lets you customize the height of each shelf based on your items, preventing wasted space and making room for taller or bulkier items.

For those who prefer a sleek, minimalist look, shelves add an elegant touch, blending seamlessly into your pantry design.

Tall cabinets with closed shelving can be used to hide items that are not frequently accessed, while open shelves keep your daily essentials within easy reach.

Additionally, incorporating both base cabinets and top shelves gives you the flexibility to store larger items below and lighter items above, keeping your pantry clutter-free and well-organized.

Corner Pantry Solutions to Maximize Storage

A corner pantry is a clever solution for kitchens with limited space, allowing you to take advantage of otherwise unused corners to store your kitchen essentials.

Open shelving is especially effective in a corner pantry, as it makes every item visible and accessible from multiple angles.

Installing shelf supports and vertical dividers can also improve organization in a corner pantry. For items like paper towels, small appliances, or food storage containers, using deep shelves along the back wall can maximize space.

A well-designed corner pantry doesn’t just store items; it also saves floor space and helps keep your kitchen neat and functional.

Selecting the Right Tall Cabinet for Your Pantry

Tall cabinets are a valuable addition to any walk-in pantry, as they provide ample space for items that may not fit on traditional pantry shelves.

Whether you’re storing kitchen essentials, canned goods, or larger kitchen appliances, tall cabinets can accommodate a wide range of items, making your pantry more versatile.

For those looking to maximize vertical storage, tall cabinets are especially useful in small or corner pantries where space is limited.

When choosing a tall cabinet, consider your pantry’s layout and what items you plan to store.

Adjustable shelving within the cabinet allows for flexibility, so you can change the shelf height as your storage needs evolve.

Incorporating cabinets with tall configurations is also a cost-effective way to add style and storage to your pantry.

With the right tall cabinet, you’ll have just enough space for everything, from pantry staples to kitchen essentials, while keeping your pantry organized and clutter-free.

Clever Pantry Design Tips for Small Spaces

Designing a walk-in pantry in a small space requires creativity and careful planning to maximize storage without overcrowding.

Open shelves and wall-mounted pantry shelves are great for keeping items visible and accessible, preventing the pantry from feeling cramped.

Using vertical dividers and shelf supports allows you to take advantage of the full height of your pantry, storing items like paper towels and kitchen appliances without taking up valuable floor space.

Lower cabinets and tall cabinets work well in small pantries, providing concealed storage for bulkier items.

Cabinets are a great addition for small pantry designs, as they come in customizable sizes and can fit snugly into tight spaces.

By combining these clever storage solutions, you can create a pantry that feels spacious and clutter-free, no matter the size of your kitchen.

How to Store Kitchen Essentials in a Custom Pantry

Storing kitchen essentials in your walk-in pantry keeps your counters clutter-free and makes cooking more efficient.

Begin by designating specific pantry shelves for frequently used items like spices, oils, and baking ingredients.

Open shelving is ideal for keeping these essentials visible and easy to grab, while closed cabinets can store larger or less frequently used items.

Consider adding a tall cabinet or base cabinets for heavier kitchen appliances and bulk items.

The top shelf can be reserved for lighter items or items used less often, while lower shelves hold everyday essentials.

By arranging kitchen essentials strategically, you can create a functional and organized space that meets all your cooking needs while keeping your kitchen clutter-free.

Open Shelving vs. Closed Shelving in Your Walk-in Pantry

When designing a walk-in pantry, deciding between open and closed shelving is crucial for both function and style.

Open shelving is ideal for easy access and quick visibility, making it simple to locate your pantry essentials.

It’s especially useful for organizing everyday items, as you can see everything at a glance, which helps maintain a clutter-free look.

Open shelves are also a popular choice for a modern, spacious feel.

Closed shelving, on the other hand, offers a more streamlined and clean aesthetic.

Cabinets with doors can hide away bulkier items, small appliances, or items that don’t need to be accessed as frequently.

This option works well for those who prefer a minimalist pantry design or want to keep their space looking organized at all times.

By balancing open and closed shelving, you can customize your pantry to fit your organizational needs while creating a visually appealing space.

Installing Shelf Supports for a Sturdy Pantry Build

A sturdy pantry build requires reliable shelf supports, especially when your shelves need to handle heavy items like canned goods, or kitchen appliances.

Shelf supports provide essential structural integrity, ensuring that your pantry shelves can hold the weight of your items without sagging or bending over time.

When designing a walk-in pantry, consider using adjustable shelf brackets, which allow you to change shelf heights as your storage needs evolve.

This flexibility is especially valuable if you plan to store items of varying sizes, from food containers to large kitchen appliances.

Wall-mounted supports are another option that can help keep your pantry organized and safe.

For heavier loads, installing brackets directly into wall studs can provide added stability, preventing any risk of the shelves collapsing.

With strong shelf supports, you can feel confident that your pantry will maintain its function and structure for years to come.

How to Use Vertical Dividers in Our Custom Pantry

Vertical dividers are a fantastic addition to any walk-in pantry, offering a simple way to organize items while maximizing storage space.

These dividers create separate sections on pantry shelves, helping keep items like baking sheets, cutting boards, and platters neatly stored and easily accessible.

Unlike horizontal shelves, which can become cluttered with stacked items, vertical dividers keep everything in its place and easy to reach.

Installing vertical dividers along the back wall or in corner pantry spaces can make a significant difference in organization.

For added functionality, consider using adjustable dividers that can be repositioned to accommodate different items over time.

Vertical dividers also work well in tall cabinets, creating just enough space for slim items that can otherwise be challenging to store.

By adding vertical dividers to your pantry design, you can keep everything from kitchen essentials to small appliances well organized and accessible.

Popular Custom Walk-in Pantry Designs in 2024

In 2024, walk-in pantries are trending toward designs that maximize efficiency, blend seamlessly with kitchen aesthetics, and offer modern functionality.

Double door pantry designs continue to be popular, allowing for easy access and clear visibility of pantry contents. Open shelving is another favorite, as it provides a sleek, modern look and makes items easy to locate.

Pantries this year are also incorporating more cabinets, blending style with functionality and making it easy to create an organized space without a hefty price tag.

Tall cabinets, vertical dividers, and lower cabinets add a unique dimension to pantry designs, offering storage solutions for a range of kitchen essentials, from food items to small appliances.

Finished shelves are also in demand, giving pantries a polished, high-end look.

The use of innovative storage solutions, like pull-out drawers, and open shelves, helps create a versatile space tailored to each homeowner’s needs.

With a walk-in pantry design, you can enjoy a storage area that combines practicality with modern style.

Adding Finished Shelves to Your Pantry for a Polished Look

Adding finished shelves to your walk-in pantry provides a polished, professional appearance that enhances the overall design of your kitchen.

They are easy to clean, ensuring that your pantry remains a hygienic space for food items, kitchen essentials, and small appliances.

To achieve a cohesive look, consider using shelves that match the style of your cabinets or the pantry door.

Cabinets can be a great option for adding affordable, finished shelving that blends seamlessly into your pantry.

Choosing the Right Pantry Lighting for Easy Access

Good lighting is essential in a walk-in pantry to ensure items are easily visible.

LED strip lights under each shelf provide even illumination without casting shadows, making it easier to find kitchen essentials.

Recessed ceiling lights are also a popular choice, as they provide bright, focused lighting without taking up space.

Some homeowners opt for motion-sensor lights, which turn on automatically when you enter the pantry, saving energy and offering convenience.

For a touch of style, pendant lights add a decorative element and illuminate the pantry’s focal points.

Whether you’re organizing and storing food, storage or small appliances, the right lighting will help you access everything with ease, transforming your pantry into a functional and inviting space.

Incorporating Countertops in a Walk-in Pantry

Adding countertops to a walk-in pantry increases its functionality, providing a surface for food prep, sorting groceries, or placing small appliances.

Countertops are especially useful in larger pantries or when you need extra workspace that doesn’t clutter your kitchen.

Options like butcher block, quartz, or even laminate countertops offer durability and style, suiting different pantry designs.

Installing countertops above lower cabinets or in a corner pantry makes it easy to place appliances like microwaves or coffee makers, keeping them out of the main kitchen area.

A countertop in your pantry enhances usability, offering just enough space for prep work and storage.

Using Storage Bins to Organize Your Pantry

Storage bins are invaluable for organizing a walk-in pantry, allowing you to categorize items and reduce clutter.

Bins keep loose items like snacks, spices, or baking supplies neatly contained, preventing them from scattering across pantry shelves.

Transparent storage bins are especially handy for quick visibility, helping you find items without having to sort through everything.

Labeling bins further enhances organization, making it simple for everyone in the household to locate items.

Storage bins work well on open shelves, within cabinets, or even on the pantry floor for bulkier items.

By using storage bins, you can make the most of your space, keeping everything organized and accessible.

How to Integrate Drawers in Your Walk-in Pantry Design

Drawers are a practical addition to a walk-in pantry, allowing you to store smaller items like utensils, spices, or baking supplies out of sight.

Drawers help create a clutter-free environment, as they contain items that might otherwise create a disorganized look on open shelves.

Soft-close drawers add a luxurious touch, while deeper drawers can accommodate larger items like kitchen towels or paper towels.

Drawers are particularly useful for base cabinets, keeping items at an easy-to-reach level.

When combined with other storage solutions, such as tall cabinets and shelving, drawers enhance the functionality and aesthetics of your pantry.

Tips for Organizing a Double Door Pantry

A double door pantry provides excellent access, making organization essential for easy retrieval of items.

Use adjustable shelving to maximize the space within the double doors, placing frequently used items at eye level.

Consider installing door-mounted racks for extra storage, ideal for spices or condiments, which can otherwise clutter shelves.

To optimize space, incorporate tall cabinets for bulkier items and add open shelves for easy access.

With an organized double door pantry, you can store everything from kitchen essentials to small appliances in an efficient, accessible way.

The Role of Wall Studs in Pantry Shelf Installation

Wall studs are crucial for supporting shelves in a walk-in pantry, as they provide the structural integrity needed to hold heavy items like canned goods or small appliances.

When installing shelves, it’s essential to locate wall studs to ensure your shelving remains secure over time.

For heavier loads, such as pantry shelves storing large amounts of food, mounting brackets directly to wall studs will provide added support.

Using wall studs can prevent sagging shelves and maintain a strong, durable pantry setup.

With proper support from wall studs, you can confidently organize your pantry without worrying about shelf stability.

Avoiding Common Mistakes in Pantry Organization

When designing a walk-in pantry, avoiding common mistakes can help you maximize storage and keep your pantry functional.

One frequent issue is failing to use adjustable shelving, which limits flexibility for different-sized items.

Another common mistake is overcrowding the pantry with non-essentials, which reduces usable space.

Ensure each shelf has just enough space to prevent items from getting hidden or lost.

Group similar items, like canned goods or spices, to keep everything accessible.

By planning thoughtfully, you can create an organized, clutter-free pantry that suits your storage needs and avoids common organizational pitfalls.

A walk-in pantry is more than just a storage space; it’s a solution for creating a well-organized, accessible, and clutter-free kitchen.

A Pantry To Meet Any Storage Needs

With the right combination of shelving, tall cabinets, drawers, and vertical dividers, a pantry can be tailored to meet any storage needs, whether for food, kitchen essentials, or small appliances.

From maximizing storage space with adjustable shelving to choosing the right pantry door style, every detail can be customized to ensure a seamless fit with your kitchen’s design.

Avoiding common organizational mistakes, such as wasted space or overcrowding, further enhances usability.

With a professionally designed walk-in pantry, you’ll enjoy a beautifully organized space that simplifies daily routines, keeps your kitchen tidy, and adds value to your home.

What Our Customers Have To Say

We’re proud of the work we do…but we might be a bit biased. So, we’ll let our past customers do the talking!

google

We had an exceptional experience working with Natalie from start to finish. She completely redesigned our master closet in a way that maximized storage without sacrificing beauty or attention to detail—something that’s harder to achieve than it sounds.Every inch of space was thoughtfully utilized, and the final result feels both highly functional and visually elevated. It truly transformed how we use the space day-to-day. The quality of the materials was also higher end than I ever could have imagined. This was not our first experience with a customized closet, and it blew the other two companies' product out of the water.Their team was incredibly professional, communicative, and consistently available throughout the entire process. They kept us informed at every stage, were responsive to questions, and made everything feel seamless. It’s rare to find a company that executes this well on both design and service, but they absolutely delivered. We would highly recommend them to anyone looking to elevate their space in a meaningful, lasting way.Also- if you're thinking about going out on a limb with color- do it! We chose a beautiful muted green and couldn't be happier with the final look.

UPDATE: Pro Closet replaced the hinges with full extension versions which corrected the issue. Gene aligned the doors and one drawer perfectly. No thrashing over anything. Raised my rating to the 5 Star level as it is appropriate.Almost perfect. We worked with Natalie for quite a while to get what we needed and wanted. She was easy to work with but there were communication issues. We were able to work all but one detail which she is working on now. Will post an update when the issue (minor) is resolved.Meanwhile, we love the organization and voluminous storage space along with our cedar closet. The installers were courteous, clean and careful.I would have no problem recommending Pro Closet.

I expected quality work and beautiful closets. That is not the case. I should have gone to IKEA, Lowes or Home Depot I probably should have and have paid half the cost, and it’s the same type of shelving . I would not recommend if you want quality shelving. I asked for long wood shelves and got a ton of built in cubicles. Nothing fits in them! I have less space than before . Very disappointed! Cheap looking and not at all what I wanted or asked for.

We have used Pro Closet designs for many years, from everything from closets to bar space. All three of our closets have been built out, we installed a full laundry room of cabinets and hanging areas, and had a full bar and shelf build-out completed. Jared and Natalie have been nothing but over-the-top helpful and informative with both material options, and timing. Installation is always super easy and low-maintenance - and best of all, QUICK! The first time we had this company here everything went fine. We decided to have them back to do some more work. The second time was completely awful. Terribly unorganized, terrible customer service, terrible sales person. They messed up the color on some cabinets that we had done, the doors were a completely different color from the fixture. I was told that this would be a quick fix, that they would put a rush on a new order of doors. They did not. It has taken them well over 2 months to get back to me. The sales person did a terrible job, she was not responsive, she has texted me late at night on a Sunday, she ordered items that I did not want, she measured incorrectly. We also made a coat closet, the doors that were to be on the coat closet were a completely different size. They did nothing to rectify this issue. We had to go with different doors because the correct doors would have taken weeks to come in. I am completely unimpressed with this company. I do not usually leave a bad review, but this is ridiculous and hopefully you can avoid this problem.

My husband and I ordered cabinets for our kitchen and bathrooms from this company. We paid a decent chunk of change to create our dream home. When the cabinets were unboxed, we noticed defects in the seams. We pointed them out to the installers and they agreed there was an issue and they would get the affected doors replaced for us. It has been 4 months and not only are they refusing to replace the doors, but are trying to say that it’s our fault the doors were damaged (completely untrue). Now they are threatening legal action against us because we held our last payment until the damaged doors were replaced. And they said if we want them replaced we will have to pay again. Meanwhile we’ve had no contact from Jared who filed the legal paperwork or any attempt to correct this situation. They do not stand behind their products!

They showed diligence and creativity in meeting our needs for both areas. Appointments were convenient and timely. Everyone we came in contact with was pleasant and professional in their conduct. We could not have asked for a better source for the work. We plan to use them again!

I contacted Pro Closet Design to have my pantry done. They gave me an appointment within a couple days to start planning my project. Tamara was fantastic! She knew exactly what I wanted and made great recommendations for my project. Within a couple of days I was already viewing my design in 3D and it was just perfect. I was kept informed from beginning to end. Installation was done by a very courteous young man named Zak. He went to work right away and made sure that everything was to my satisfaction when the job was completed.I would not hesitate to recommend Pro Closet Design.
